Western Long Island Sound is home to some of the best sportfishing in the area. Spring Flounder, Blackfish, Striped Bass, and Bluefish by the bushel make the area a fisherman's playground. Daystar is at the center of the action! Berthed at Captains Cove Marina in Black Rock Harbor, we are a short run to the Norwalk Islands, Northern Long Island and all points between.

Owned and operated by Helen B Charters, your hosts Captain Chris Bociek and Captain Bob Bociek, aim to make your trip the best on the coast! Equipped with fishfinder, radar, VHF radio, cellular phone, full galley and head, the 34' twin diesel Daystar makes for a safe, comfortable day on the water. Fully Coast Guard licensed, with over 20 years local fishing experience, your captain will customize a trip for up to 6 people. For smaller groups, split charters can be arranged. Sharing the boat with fellow anglers can make for a great day at a reasonable cost!

Soft soled shoes, sunglasses and a camera to record the fun are always recommended. A light jacket, especially during spring and fall, is a good idea as morning and evenings can be a little chilly. You may bring your own food and beverage for the trip or with prior notice, we can cater to suit your taste. There is an assortment of tackle onboard to meet each angler's needs. If you have a favorite rod, feel free to bring it along and we'll rig it for you. Bait, ice and coolers are always provided as well as dockside cleaning and packing of your catch to insure a care free day of fishing. Daystar operates from April 1 through October 30 and is on call for weekday, weekend and evening excursions. Fireworks viewing and local cruises can also be arranged. We are available for all tournaments, including the WICC Bluefish Tournament, which boasts prize monies in excess of $40,000!!
